I want to be a writer

Good afternoon, my dear teachers and students! I’m glad to have the speech here. Today the topic of my speech is about my dream. whenever seeing birds flying in the sky freely, whenever seeing our Olympic Athletes going all out for the honor of our motherland, whenever seeing a hero sacrificing himself to save others, whenever seeing A, whenever seeing B, How I want to write them in my own words!

I like reading. In my eyes, the writers are very great! They have many original ideas. They have no scruples about describing the wonderful world with their pens. They know many things that we don’t know. They are so magic that an ordinary thing will become extraordinary under their pens. What a wonderful thing it is! So I like writing. I also want to write many excellent stories all by myself. It is my dream, a very pretty dream. Since I was a child, I have had this dream; with time going by, the dream is becoming fiercer and fiercer, especially every time I read a piece of excellent article.

Excellent stories are moving, interesting, and instructive. Sometimes they can make me burst into laughter and sometimes I’m so moved that tears can run down my face. I’d like to describe different parts of the world. Especially, I want to make sad people happy, to make disappointed people cheer up and to make people in trouble see the hope of life. I want to exchange and share all kinds of feelings with my readers. I want to sing highly of good things and criticize bad things. I also want the people to know more about the world.

Of course as a writer, I must have various kinds of knowledge to enrich myself, so I read different kinds of books. The more the knowledge I have, the easier it is for me to write

more articles. I’ll study harder and harder and gradually enrich myself.

I also have serious aspirations. There’s no Chinese who ever got Nobel Literature Prize in China. I hope I can get it. Maybe it is too far, but I’ll make every effort to go on marching toward this aim.

This is my dream, this is my ideal--- to be a writer, to be a successful writer. I believe the saying “ While there is life, there is hope.” I’m sure I will succeed in the future.
