摘要：A coupling assembly (1) for connecting two members (12,14) is provided thatincludes a first \"male\" member (12) and a second \"female\" member (14). The firstmember (12) includes a release sleeve (44) moveably mounted thereon having a rigidrelease portion (46) and a flexible sealing portion (48). The second member (14) isintegrated into an apparatus, such as a pump, and includes a duct (70) therethrough forreceiving the first member (12). Upon connection of the first and second members(12,14), the flexible sealing portion (48) sealingly engages a recessed seat portion (74) ofthe second member (14) to substantially inhibit the ingression of contaminates into theduct (70) when the first and second members (12,14) are connected. The foregoingcoupling assembly is advantageous because it allows the second member (14) to beformed directly into an apparatus. In other embodiments, the coupling assemblyprovides an improved release sleeve that releases the male member from both aconventional female member and an integral female member.
