摘要：Novel fibronectin binding protein B polypeptides and DNA (RNA) encoding suchnovel fibronectin binding protein B and a procedure for producing such polypeptides byrecombinant techniques is disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for utilizing such novelfibronectin binding protein B for the treatment of infection, particularly bacterial

infections. Antagonists against such novel fibronectin binding protein B and their use as atherapeutic to treat infections, particularly bacterial infections are also disclosed. Alsodisclosed are diagnostic assays for detecting diseases related to the presence of novelfibronectin binding protein B nucleic acid sequences and the polypeptides in a host. Alsodisclosed are diagnostic assays for detecting polynucleotides encoding novel fibronectinbinding protein B family and for detecting the polypeptide in a host.
