摘要：A multicolor-printer has a plurality of print stations (1) arranged to generate animage (8) on a recording medium (6, 7) and a recording medium conveyor (2). A pluralityof similar encoding marks (11) are associated with the conveyor (2). Sensor arrangements
(13) are arranged along the print stations (1), responsive to the encoding marks (11). Thesensor arrangements (13) are arranged to generate signals indicating the movement ofthe conveyor (2) with respect to the corresponding print station (1). In some
embodiments, at least one index marking (10) indicative of a reference position of theconveyor (2) is provided. The sensor arrangements (13) are responsive to the indexmarking (10), thereby providing information about the reference position of the conveyor(2) with respect to the corresponding print station. The printer is arranged to registerimages of different print stations (1) with each other based on the movement andreference-position information.
