摘要：A multi-segment repeater includes a first inter-repeater bus and a second inter-repeater bus (15). A first repeater circuit (16) is connected to the first inter-repeater bus(14) and to the second inter-repeater bus (15). The first repeater circuit (16) includes a 10megabit repeater core (45,75), and one or more 100 megabit repeater cores (46,47,76). Aselector (48,78) selects which of the repeater cores is to be connected to the first inter-repeater bus (14). Additionally, provision is made to allow a 100 megabit repeater core(47) to be connected to the second inter-repeater bus (15).
